Artist Biography

Wayne was born in Waycross, Ga. in 1964 and has lived his entire life in Brantley County. He has always been an avid outdoorsman and loves being in and around the rivers and swamps of southeast Georgia with the Satilla River being his main subject.

In 1999 a heart condition caused him to get a pace-maker at the age of 35 and not knowing his future turned his love of the outdoors into a passion for photography.

Recently Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue took a fishing trip on the Satilla River and took one of Waynes large framed river photos back to hang above his mantle at his lake home in the Atlanta area. Former governor and president of the United States , Jimmy Carter also has two of his river photos along with two of his B&W photos.

He was named "Photographer of the Year" for 2008 by Brantley County Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

More of his work can be seen at the Brantley County library, Brantley County Board of Education, Sherries Art Gallery in Atkinson, Painted Cat Studio in Hoboken, Southeastern Surgical Associates office in the Brunswick Hospital, Chambless-Frye Funeral Home, Sisters & Company in Hoboken, Brantley County Development Authority, Brantley County Commissioners office, the Shops at Broome House and Jerry J's restaurant in Nahunta.

The Brantley County Chamber of Commerce and the Satilla Riverkeeper organizations have his pictures on their brochures.
